Hi, I'm Stef.

I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and I’ve been working in the field of mental health for over ten years. I began my career in community mental health working in group homes and youth justice settings, which is where I realized how much I love working with people to help them recapture a sense of vibrancy after they’ve gone through tremendous pain.

I am formally trained in a number of evidence-based therapies like:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

I continue to participate in numerous workshops, webinars, and consultations to deepen and enrich my skillset and insight into the issues that I help people with.

I'm a real human, I promise!

Fun fact: I’ve been playing the drums since I was 12 and I have an undying love for prog metal! Animals as Leaders is my favourite band of all time, but my playlist is a mixture of 90s grunge, early 2000s pop, and metal. I played in a band during high school and my first couple of years of university, which was a blast.

I’m also an avid reader and dabble in writing poetry from time to time. Audrey Schulman and Zadie Smith are two of my favourite authors, among many others.

I'm a little clumsy and prone to daydreaming so team sports weren't really my thing. I took up long distance running at an early age and fell in love with it. You’ll find me out there regardless of what the weather’s doing, except for when there’s lightning…

What makes my practice different?

Authenticity         Safety        Collaboration

My own personal therapy really helped me climb out of a dark place and it made me very passionate about wanting to offer that same kind of experience to other people. I strongly believe that good therapy should undo our sense of aloneness in the pain we’re feeling and that it should empower us to become more secure within ourselves and our important relationships.

This is my commitment to you.
